Give the Gift of Manduka with the 2016 Holiday Gift Guide (Part 1)

Manduka-Holiday-Gift-Guide-2016After reading all the positive comments on the Oprah’s Favorite Things 2016 gift guide  and seeing it was helpful to many of you, I want to share another post in my Holiday Promo series: the Manduka 2016 Holiday Gift Guide with you.

Manduka is well-known for their durable good quality mats and the use of natural, renewable materials in their other products. They recently released their holiday gift guide which I’m super excited to share with you because they have an awesome collection of really hot yoga clothes for women which will sizzle up the dreary cold winter months ahead.

Because there is so much we can all absorb at once, I am splitting this guide into two parts so this post is Part 1. Stay tuned for Post 2 very soon.

This Manduka Holiday collection is based on the style of 6 personality types and I’m sure that we all know a person that falls into each type.

To get more info on each piece or purchase, simply click on the images and you will get redirected to the Manduka website.  If you want to see the full catalogue and some yoga clothing for men (which I omitted), check it out here.

A necessity if you ask me. The Black Halter Bra is a must-have to pair with those extravagant yoga pants to balance the look out. Also, the strap configuration stays put so you never have to readjust it during your practice, and the mesh inserts air out the sweat. The high neckline piece is stylish AND functional at the same time. Yay!

The Sediment Melange Grey Knee Hugger

Upon first look, this pair of capris may look grey and boring. But looks can be deceiving. Take a look behind! Do you see the black fabric sewn across the bum and right above the knees? Well, this unexpectedly adds a touch of intriguing spice to an otherwise ordinary piece.

Great choice for those days when you want to dress down, but you don’t want to feel entirely plain.

The Kosha Hoodie

The Mazarine Y Back Cami

I really gotta give some credit to Manduka for the really cool names of their pieces and colors. Just reading the word “Mazarine” gets me all excited as it sounds so exotic…or just Italian. 😉  Stand tall and proud in this skinny-fit sporty cami.

Oh my goodness, there are so many that I am in love with! I think my favorite is the Kosha hoodie. I am going to have to leave this page open in my browser for my husband to find for Christmas! I would love to have most of these. Once I get my body back after baby I will be coming back to this site for sure. Thanks for the great ideas!

    • I know! I want the entire collection myself! I absolutely adore The Raisin Flux Legging, and the Raisin Libertine Bralette. Colours like these are very flattering on me. They make my green eyes pop.

I hope your husband gets you the Kosha Hoodie! Let me know if he does! Happy Holidays 😉

  2. Cathy Cathy

I’ve been practicing Yoga for almost 5 years now and the things I wear are usually tight shorts and a padded camisole. They are quite comfortable, but when I sweat, the contact between my legs and arms can be very slippery.

I’ve never tried long tights for fear that they might be hot to wear. Are these breathable materials? They look really gorgeous – I like the Hana Print. I wonder if they have any Christmas sales going on.

    • Hi Cathy! The slippery feeling must be very uncomfortable. :/ The Manduka leggings are breathable and moisture-wicking so I don’t think you would feel too hot. If you check out the sales page on their website here, you will see certain pieces of this Holiday collection already discounted.

  3. Andrea Andrea

Oh I love the Raisin Flux Leggings, the tie-up at the back is such a cute detail. I love wearing leggings even when I am not doing yoga. I also love using the bralettes as actual bras. Those towels are gorgeous! I especially love the one with the tree. Are they just for going on top of your mat? What purpose do they serve?

    • Hey Andrea! I know right? Those Raisin Flux Leggings are adorable and they make quite the fashion statement outside of yoga class. As for the bralettes, I can relate too: normal bras with the underwires are so uncomfortable on some days and the bralettes make a great alternative.

You use the Manduka Yogitoes Yoga Towels on top of your yoga mat to prevent slipping when you are sweating and when you’re moving a lot like in Power and Ashtanga Yoga. The towels are patented with Skidless Technology and they are eco-friendly too. 🙂

OHM! Great gift ideas for any yogini 😀 I love the Yogitoes Vitality Towel, it looks like the one I hand painted myself, except mine was orange tree on a yellow background. How easy are these to wash? I was also wondering if you also have suggestions for some quality kids yoga clothing?
P.S. Funny what you say about hot winter, here in Germany we have SNOW 🙂

    • I love the variety of designs of the Manduka Yogitoes yoga mat towels. My favourite is the Stability with the majestic elephant.

As for care, you just machine wash them in cold water and tumble dry or hang to dry. Don’t use any fabric softeners as that will damage the fabric and make it slick.

It’s advised to machine wash the Yogitoes twice before first use.

Also, because Manduka’s dyes are free of AZO, lead and heavy metal, you should wash the towels separately everytime to protect your clothing from dye loss.

90 Degree by Reflex has some good quality yoga clothing for kids. Check them out here.

This was such a fun article to read and view! As a newbie to yoga, I was not aware of the “fashion end” of things. It certainly is motivating to progress with yoga when you are wearing something that is comfortable and stylish. These Manduka styles are very appealing. I am wondering do they come in all sizes? –not just for the already fit? I really like the Surihaku jacket, the Sediment Melange Grey Knee Hugger, and the Mazarine Y Back Cami.

Hi, because I have a lower back pain my doctor recommended some yoga exercises and I was thinking about starting it. But I never knew I should wear special yoga clothes, other than sweatpants 🙂
I have to say that I really liked the Raspberry Heather Pink Wrap Up Bralette. I would pair with with some leggings and I would be ready to start exercising.
Thank you for sharing this post with us.
    Happy holidays.

  8. Arta Arta

What a nice collection! I really like Kanoko legging and Surihaku legging. And what is even more important that excellent design of Surihaku legging is their sustainability practise. I do tend to choose brands that are sustainable and thinking about our planet. This is really a huge advantage to prevail other brands in my eyes.

    • Vanessa Vanessa

That’s what I really appreciate about Manduka: they have sustainable practices while still creating great quality and fashionable products.

You can read more about it here in their Fabric Technology page and Made for Good page.
